Puppy care begins with vaccinating & desexing

Puppy care begins with having him/her vaccinated against serious life – threatening diseases:

  • Canine Parvovirus
  • Canine Distemper
  • Canine Hepatitis

Vaccinations are inexpensive and readily available – phone your vet today and make an appointment.

A good time to Microchip your puppy is when he receives his very first vaccination. Microchipping is an easy, cheap way of keeping track of your dog.

Using another cheap form of ID is also helpful, if you pup manages to squeeze under the gate and make it to the neighbour’s yard.  Engraved name tags containing address and phone number are inexpensive as are small plastic travel tags.

Desexing puppies helps to prevent diseases in later life.

Why should I desex my puppy?
  • There are health benefits for dogs that are desexed early in life. It’s possible to prevent uterine, ovarian & mammary cancers in females if the operation is performed before she first comes into season.
  • In males, testicular and prostate cancers, prostate enlargement, hormone-related tumors and infections may be prevented.

Ask your vet about desexing when you phone to make an appointment to have puppy vaccinated.

This is general information only, always consult a vet about vaccinating and desexing puppies. See Legal Disclaimer.
